People pay in local currency through the apps they already use. Agents pay each other in stablecoins over HTTP. Q402 Connect proposes a gateway between the two that keeps them strictly separate.
Two rails, never merged
Q402 prototypeA person submits a task and receives a quote in their own currency. If they accept, they pay a conventional service invoice through a licensed merchant provider. Q402 records that payment in a fiat ledger. Separately, it allocates an operating budget to the agent assigned to the task, and the agent draws on its own pre-funded x402 wallet for any paid API calls the task needs.
Fiat does not become crypto anywhere in this flow. There is no conversion, no on-ramp and no exchange. The two ledgers are reconciled only at the reporting level, so the person sees a full cost breakdown.
Messaging-native interfaces
Speculative researchIn much of Asia, commerce happens inside messaging apps and their mini-program platforms. A chat with an agent, with an invoice card and a delivery notification, fits how people already buy services. Q402 Connect is a design study for that experience.
Status of the WeChat Pay integration
Q402 prototypeA WeChat Pay merchant integration is planned and not live. Q402 has no partnership with Tencent. A production integration would require an authorised merchant account and approved API flows. Until then, the Connect interface uses a mock payment provider labelled DEMO, behind an adapter interface that a licensed provider can replace.
